One of my favourite things to watch is the moment of stillness after a turtle takes a breath. The moment of letting go. Taken in my backyard in the Cook Islands. I used to think photographing free diving to great depths was challenging. But I've found at the surface it is even harder. its rare to get moments where a turtle will breathe and look at you as they normally decent straight to the depths.
