Adoration In Adoration, two sisters become twelve, their forms multiplied and reassembled into a tableau that blurs the line between portrait and performance. Photographed individually in my studio, each of the twelve figures was posed and lit with precision, then meticulously composited in Photoshop to form a cohesive, painterly scene. The composition draws clear inspiration from the Old Masters — in particular, the serene, atmospheric landscapes and the soft, directional light reminiscent of 17th-century Dutch and Flemish painting. The sisters, dressed in simple white garments, appear as both subjects and symbols: they reach, grieve, contemplate, and surrender. Their repeated presence creates a visual rhythm that explores emotional complexity, sisterhood, and the multiplicity of self. Though rooted in contemporary photographic technique, Adoration seeks to evoke a timeless quality. It invites the viewer into a silent moment of devotion, longing, or introspection — the exact meaning left deliberately open, suspended in stillness.
